Summary
Rural Resources Community Action is looking for a Housing Rehabilitation Technician, this position is full-time (40 hours per week) with benefits and located at our Arden, WA Warehouse. As a Housing Rehabilitation Technician, you will perform carpentry-related duties including installation of attic/wall insulation, venting, doors, windows, kitchen/bath fixtures and solid fuel appliances. Including wrapping water heaters/pipes, installing exhaust fans, drywall, roofing and siding, glazing windows, painting, and will do light framing and finish carpentry. In conjunction with evaluating the home’s indoor air quality and tightness to determine weatherization needs and appropriate remedies.
Salary & Benefit information
The hiring range for this role is $19.87-$21.49 per hour. The full salary range of $19.87-$33.08 per hour represents the low and high end of the total salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to experience & qualifications. After the successful completion of our six-month training period, you will receive a 4% step increase. As a regular employee, you may receive an additional 4% step increase on your annual anniversary with RRCA. Duties & Responsibilities
A Housing Rehabilitation Technician will need Thorough knowledge of weatherization procedures, installation specifications and the use and applications of weatherization diagnostic monitoring equipment, construction safety principles and practices, job estimating and price costing of material and labor, rough and finish-carpentry and use of construction and insulation tools and equipment, including safe handling and accident prevention. The qualities we are looking for include the ability to organize and prioritize work independently with minimum supervision, operate 1-ton vans safely (must have valid driver’s licenses), recognize and solve problems related to home rehabilitation, and establish and maintain manual record-keeping systems including safety meeting minutes.
Education, Skills, and Abilities
To apply for this position, you would need a High School diploma or GED; four years of general construction and repair experience including window, door, and insulation installation. Or any combination of education and experience which would provide the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge, and ability required to perform the job.
