Summary
Rural Resources Community Action (RRCA) is seeking a welcoming and resourceful Receptionist / Navigator of Services to serve as the first point of contact for participants, community members, and partners. This role involves providing trauma-informed support, navigating individuals through services, and ensuring smooth coordination between programs. The ideal candidate will be empathetic, organized, and skilled in communication and customer service.

*This position is grant funded and dependent upon federal, state, and local funds.

Salary Information
Our Receptionist / Navigator of Services position is offered at $19.87 to $21.49 per hour.  Actual wage will vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, experience and qualifications.  Employees who successfully meet or exceed performance expectations during their annual performance evaluation will be eligible for a 4% wage increase. The full salary range for this position is $19.87 to $52.96 per hour and represents the low and high end of the total salary range for this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet and assist all guests in person and by phone
    • Conduct initial interviews to assess eligibility and service needs
    • Provide trauma-informed support and de-escalation when needed
    • Coordinate with internal programs and external agencies for referrals
    • Maintain accurate and confidential records in the agency database
    • Ensure the reception area is tidy and well-stocked
    • Monitor office security and manage visitor access
    • Support program staff with clerical tasks and special projects
    • Process mail, office supply orders, and general office bills

Education, Skills, and Abilities

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Ability to remain calm and empathetic in high-stress situations
    • Knowledge of trauma, poverty, and community resources
    • Proficiency in standard office software and equipment
    • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

Education and Experience

  • Associate degree in administration, human services, or related field; or
    • High school diploma or GED with three years of relevant experience; or
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred: Familiarity with local social service agencies

Certifications and Licenses

  • Valid driver’s license in state of residence
    • Auto insurance as required by the State of Washington
    • Access to reliable transportation
    • Acceptable completion of a criminal history background check

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, talk, hear, and use hands for computer and phone use
    • Light to moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
    • Ability to manage the stress of a fast-paced environment
    • Regular, predictable attendance is required
