Victim Services

Children’s Advocacy Center

The Children’s Advocacy Center offers community-based, child-friendly, trauma-informed services for children who have witnessed violence or been victimized by sexual assault, physical abuse, neglect, or other forms of maltreatment.

Our mission is to recognize the right of all children to a safe childhood. Rural Resources Victim Services and Children’s Advocacy Center strives to reduce trauma and provide support to child victims of abuse and their families.

Here’s How We Work:
A Children’s Advocacy Center is a child-focused center that coordinates a multidisciplinary process for the investigation, prosecution and treatment of child abuse. We bring together, in one place, professionals from law enforcement, Child Protective Services, prosecution, and victim advocacy.

We also work collaboratively with mental health and the medical community to provide access to physical and emotional healing. The Children’s Advocacy Center keeps the child at the center of coordinated, child-sensitive assessment and care.

The Result:
The child tells their story to just one specially-trained professional in a child-friendly, confidential facility. We take it from there.

Support the CAC
We need your help to support survivors of child abuse, neglect, and maltreatment in our communities. Please visit our Amazon wish list to purchase essential items for survivors and their families.

This list includes a wide range of trauma-informed, kinesthetic-oriented activities to support healing for children and/or healthy reconnection with non-offending caregivers. Every child that is interviewed at the CAC gets an activity that’s personalized for their interests and designed to help mitigate some of the stress and trauma that comes in the aftermath of violence. Thank you for your support!
