About Us

At Smart Start Learning Center, our mission is to engage families and community partners in a strength-based program that fosters learning and life skills for children and their families.

Our Philosophy

Our Programs

Toddler Care (12 months-3 years)

Toddlers are full of energy and curiosity. Our toddler program encourages exploration and development through interactive play, music, art, and early language skills.

Preschool (3-5 years)

Our preschool program prepares children for kindergarten. We focus on early literacy, math skills, social-skills development, all while fostering a life-long love for learning.

School Age (5-12 years)

We provide school age care for children aged 5 years to 12 years old, which includes before and after school care, school district closure days and summer break.

Our Staff

Our dedicated staff are experienced early childhood professionals that are committed to providing high-quality care and education. All of our staff members are trained in appropriate developmental practices, certified in first aid and CPR and have a background check clearance. In our program we believe in continuous professional development and ensure our staff stay current with the latest best practices in educational development.

Our Learning Center

Smart Start Learning Center is located in Colville, Washington at 706 S. Elm Street.

Our center includes:

• A variety of age-appropriate learning materials
• Research-based curriculum
• Outdoor play areas for physical activity and exploration
• Quiet areas for rest and relaxation
• Nutritious meals and snacks prepared on-site
• Resources and support for families

Parent Involvement

We believe that parental involvement is key to a child’s success.

We offer:

• Regular parent-teacher conferences to discuss your child’s progress
• Open communication through daily reports and newsletters
• Family events and parent education to support families
• Volunteer opportunities for parents to get involved in the classroom

Enrollment

Enrolling your child at Smart Start Learning Center is a simple and straightforward process. We offer visits of our center, where you can meet our staff, see your child’s classroom in action, and ask any questions you may have.

Costs

Tuition rates vary based on your child’s age and how many days your child is in care. You may be eligible for tuition support through Working Connections Child Care or be eligible for one of our other early learning options such as the Early Child Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) or Head Start preschool program.
